Why Testing?
Throughout life, people can encounter difficulties in school, work, home or social settings. A Neuropsychological Assessment provides critical information that can be used to identify individual strengths and weaknesses with the goal of providing targeted interventions for success. Often, referrals for testing are made by schools, tutors, or medical and mental health professionals. Just as often, parents, or the client themselves, may seek assessment to better understand developmental, cogntive and personality/psychological status.
What should I expect from a Neuropsychological Assessment?
A comprehensive neuropsychological assessment includes comprehensive developmental and family history, consultation with teachers, school, parents and any other members of support staff. School observations may be included if necessary.
Standardized tests of cognitive potential (I.Q.) achievement (reading, math, writing, spelling,) auditory and visual processing, language, memory, attention, executive function, and personality/psychological functioning comprise a typical comprehensive assessment.
Because people typically experience varying levels of attention, mood, and performance as a natural part of day-to-day living, Dr. Fulgham prefers to see clients over the course of several sessions. Typically, 8-12 hours of testing are required. All assessments involve an Intake Session, requisite number of testing sessions, Feedback Session, and comprehensive written report with targeted recommendations and interventions.
Fees and Insurance
Dr. Fulgham is not a provider for any insurance panels. A super-bill will be provided upon request should you seek reimbursement from you carrier. Please contact Dr. Fulgham for current assessment fees. All test sessions, school observations (if indicated) Feedback Meetings and final reports are included in assessment fee. Additional services, such as attendance at IEP meetings, may incur an additional cost at the rate of $400.00 per hour.
An Intake Consultation is required prior to testing. Intake Fee is $500.00, payable at time of service. Intake Consultation fee is non-refundable and not applicable to total assessment fee.
General Consultations are available at the rate of $400.00 per hour. Dr. Fulgham consults with parents, professionals and individuals on a wide variety of issues including, data interpretation of previous testing, school placement, general questions and concerns relating to appropriateness of testing, referral to alternate resources, and professional consultations.
